My name is Inez de Miranda.
I became a childminder because -obviously- I love children, but also because I believe that most children benefit from small-scale childcare in a relaxed home environment, where they can get a lot of personal attention from their carer.

Because every child deserves to get all the personal attention they need, I aim to have no more than four minded children in my care at the same time.

As a fully qualified childworker, I have worked in childcare for over twenty years, in a playschool, a creche and as a teaching assistant in special education.

In 2006 I moved from the Netherlands to Penzance in Cornwall, where I live with my partner, my eleven year old son and our two cats.

Of course, being OFSTED registered means that both my partner and myself have been fully police-checked, to help guarantee the safety of children in my care.

I recently had my first OFSTED inspection, and was rated as 'good'.





Our home in Penzance is a pleasant, light and airy three bedroom house with an enclosed back garden. It is close to the town centre, the Lescudjack children's centre as well as several playparks and schools. Even the beach is within walking distance.

The entire house can be used for childminding, but we mainly use the back room, which is set out as a playroom/dining room.
We use the table for snacks and meals, but also for doing our artwork and playing games.
There is a lot of floor space for playing,as well as a soft sitting area for relaxing, reading or even a short nap.
Should a child need more sleep, we have a bedroom with cot bed upstairs, with a handy telephone that can be used as babyphone!
