What kind of care

I provide part-time care for children of all ages.

Weekends: I can provide occasional care in weekends.

Overnight Care: I can provide occasional overnight care for a slightly higher fee.
I am registered for overnight care for one child under eight years old.
I will consider overnight care for a maximum of two children,if at least one of them is eight or older

Short term care: I do provide occasional short term childcare, but it may not always be possible. Contact me about this.

Unsocial hours: I can provide care during unsocial hours (before 8 am or after 7 pm) for a slightly higher fee.

Variable hours: I have arrangements for variable hours. For more information, have a look under my terms, or contact me.

Special needs: I have experience with, and can provide care for children with additional needs.
Sadly, my house is currently not wheelchair friendly.

From and to

I can currently collect and bring children from/to:

St. Mary's Catholic School
Lescudjack Centre

The Humphry Davy Secondary school is only a two minute walk from my home.

Other pick up/ drop off locations can be negotiated.

Food and Drink

I provide healthy, well-balanced vegetarian snacks and meals, and I make sure that children always have access to fresh water for drinking.

See an example of our daily menu.

Meals,snacks and drinks are included in my fee.

I cater for special diets.

Plate with fruit

When in my care, unhealthy food and drinks such as sweets and fizzy drinks will not be consumed by children, except sometimes in the case of special celebrations.

Working with parents

Parents are the main people in a child's life, and I aim to work together with them in order to provide the best possible care for every child. Before a child is introduced into my setting, I will have a talk with the parents about their child, their wishes about the upbringing, the child's needs, and what I can offer them.

When caring for a child, I will schedule regular talks with parents, so we can exchange our views and observations regarding the child and the care.
I like to use a communication book to keep in touch, but only if parents like this as well.

Policies

I have a set of policies in place which parents can read to understand how I run my setting. I can discuss those policies with the parents, and/or they can take a set with them to study at their leasure.

Currently I have the following policies in place:
* Child Protection
* Confidentiality
* Dropping off and Collecting
* Equal Opportunities
* Health
* Hygiene
* Illness
* Safety (I have a fire escape plan)
* Working with Parents
* Lost and Missing children
* Behaviour
* Overnight care
